Day 1 Arrive at Airport by Druk-air

 

During this flight (if from Katmandu) one will enjoy the view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan Mountains including the sacred Mt. Chomolhari & Mt. Jechu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro Airport the representative of Jeroma Tours & Travels will receive you and transfer you a hotel for the overnight halt.

 

Day 02 Paro – sightseeing

 

Ride up the winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drugyel Dzong, the ruined Fort (destroyed by fire in 1950.) which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. From here one can have the view of sacred Mt. Chomolhari on clear days. On the way back make a visit to a typical Bhutanese farmhouse. After lunch drive to Ta Dzong former Watch Tower which now houses the National Museum and then walk down passing close by the Paro Dzong, crossing the typical Bhutanese l wooden roofed bridge to Paro town. After a short stroll in town drive back to hotel for the night halt.

 

Day 3 Paro – Thimphu

This morning you ride following the winding road beside the Paro Chu (Chu meaning river or water) down stream to its confluence with the Wang-chu then up the valley to Thimphu capital. After lunch, make a visit to the memorial Chorten, here the faithful circumambulate the shrine dedicated to the Late King, telling their prayer beads as they walk. Overnight in hotel. (Distance- 65Km)

 

Day 4 Thimphu – Wangdue/Punakha

 

Today after early breakfast you will be riding towards Simtokha Dzong and from the prayer wheel point you follow the road to Wangdue/Punakha. The road starts to climb up till Dochula which is about 10,000ft in altitude. From this point you can see almost the entire Himalayan range in Bhutan. After the sightseeing you ride downwards through the sub tropical forest to Wangdue. Lunch at Wangdue and after lunch sightseeing of Wangdue. Then ride up to Punakha from the other side of the river. The road is not black topped so you know what you can expect. The road continues towards Shangana but you halt at the bridge towards Punakha. Walk to Punakha (old town) after strolling around the town ride back to Wangdue to get to Hotel Zangdopelri following the Punachu. Halt at Punakha. (Distance-109 Km)

 

Day 5 Punakha - Thimphu

 

Ride/drive back to Thimphu and after lunch sightseeing of the Thimphu valley. Halt in one of the hotels at Thimphu. (Distance-79 Km)

 

Day 6 Thimphu – Paro for Departure

 

Early in the morning drive to Paro international airport to catch your flight for your onward journey.
