​Paro – Shana
Drive up to Drugyel Dzong where the motor-able road ends and the trek to Shana begins which is about 5 to 6 hours walk with gradual climb following the Paro river through the agricultural valley and villages. The campsite is opposite the army check post in the meadows, near the river at an altitude of 2,800m.
Shana - Soi Thangthangkha
The trail is a gradual ascend following the Paro river through the conifer forest and Rhododendron. The path narrows and closes in and the trail winds up and down along the drainage. Camp is in the meadow with stone shelter built for trekkers, surrounded by conifer and birch forest and on clear days one can have a magnificent view of Mt. Ride up the winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drugyel Dzong, the ruined Fort (destroyed by fire in 1950.) which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. From here one can have the view of sacred Mt. Chomolhari on clear days. On the way back make a visit to a typical Bhutanese farmhouse. After lunch drive to Ta Dzong former Watch Tower which now houses the National Museum and then walk down passing close by the Paro Dzong, crossing the typical Bhutanese l wooden roofed bridge to Paro town...

Paro
During this journey, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan.
Thimphu
The capital of Bhutan, which is about two hours drive. After lunch, visit the Memorial Chorten built in the memory of Late Majesty, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the father of modern Bhutan.
Punakha
Full day excursion to Punakha the ancient capital of Bhutan where visitors are allowed to enter the Dzong if the Je Khenpo (chief Abbot) and the central monk body is in Thimphu in their summer residence. Rafting can be arranged on advance booking. Lunch will be served at the Punakha riverside. On the way halt for sightseeing at Dochula pass, alt. 3,080 m from where you can see the beautiful Himalayan mountain range.

Day07 Japhuna – Jadula
The trail from Japhuna takes you up and down over ridges and down to a small valley which is about 4 hours till you come across a small stream where you find two trails, one crossing the stream & and the other going up the stream. Both the trails will lead you to the same destination. Till this stream you can see many small lakes all of which are not named. You may stop by one of these lakes for lunch. After another hour and half you go up through Rhododendron bushes reach a yak camp called Jadula, Alt. 4,100 m where you stay for the night. From the camp you can see the rocky peak of Aum Jomo, the highest peak in the whole Dagala range...
9 DAYS TONGSA FESTIVAL TOUR
Day 1 : Arrival by Druk-air – Paro
Day 2 : Thimphu – Sightseeing
Day 3 : Thimphu – Trongsa
Drive to Trongsa. View Wangdiphodrang Dzong from outside. Pack lunch at Wangdiphodrang and continue driving to Trongsa. En route cross Pelela the region with different species of rhododendron ( flower season Spring – April to May). Overnight in Lodge/camp.
Day 4 : Trongsa Tsechu.
First day of festival begins. No photography.
Day 5 : Trongsa Tsechu
Witness the Trongsa Tsechu on the courtyard of the Dzong. Photography is allowed for the remaining days.
Day 6 : Trongsa – Wangdiphodrang
Morning witness the Tsechu, which also is the last day. After early lunch drive to Wangdiphodrang. Overnight at guest house/camp.
Day 7 : Wangdiphodrang – Paro
Day 8 : Paro – Sightseeing
Day 9 : Paro Airport for departure
